Website Privacy Policy
This policy applies to afterwargame.com and AWCommunity. It does not replace the separate privacy policy for the AfterWar game.

1. Information we process
When you create an AWMember account, we process your login, public nickname, email address, password hash, account status, verification and password-reset tokens, registration date and last online time.
If you use AWCommunity, we also process your country selection, status text, avatar, profile banner, forum topics, posts, news comments, profile comments, likes, friendships, private messages and moderation reports.
For security, rate limiting and view deduplication, the website may use session data and derived technical identifiers based on the request IP address and user agent. These identifiers are not displayed publicly.
Login cookies keep you signed in until 7 days without activity. A separate browser cookie is stored for up to one year, but email confirmation is valid for only 30 days. The database stores secret hashes, browser and system names, and activity and verification dates.
2. Why we process it
- To create, verify and secure accounts.
- To provide profiles, forums, comments, friends, private messages and notifications.
- To prevent spam, abuse, fraud and repeated artificial views.
- To investigate reports and enforce the Community Rules.
- To send account verification and password-reset emails.
3. Public and private content
Username, country flag, avatar, banner, status text, forum content and profile/news comments can be visible to other visitors according to the feature design. Private messages are intended for their participants. Moderators do not have a general inbox view, but a message submitted through the reporting system can be reviewed for moderation.
4. Storage and retention
Account and community data is stored in the website database. Content may remain while the account or moderation record is active. Security, report and backup retention periods are kept as long as reasonably necessary for operation, safety and legal obligations.
5. Service providers
Verification and password-reset emails are sent through the configured email provider. External links such as Steam, Google Play, YouTube, Discord and Telegram are governed by their own policies when you use them.
6. Your choices
You can delete your account from your profile after re-entering your password and confirming a new code sent to your verified email. Account deletion closes your sign-in access and removes your profile details and your own community content. Saved Workshop mods, versions, packages and images remain without an author. Published mods stay public; unpublished mods stay private. An authorship request can be submitted for a public mod without an author and is reviewed by the site owner. Other members' replies can remain. An anonymized technical record and limited moderation history may remain to preserve community records; backup copies expire under the site's retention process. You can also contact us about correction or deletion questions.
You can review and revoke browser access in Security & devices. Forgetting a device removes its email trust as well as its saved login. Security & devices.
7. Children
The website is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are not permitted to use the service in your jurisdiction.
